The kill manifold is an important well control device for the implementation of near-balanced drilling in petroleum exploration.

The kill manifold is part of the oil and gas well pressure control equipment.  When there is a need for well killing, a mud pump or a cement truck can be used to pump kill fluid into drill string and thus to carry out well killing operations.
